We advise parents to have their children tested by age 3 and even sooner if something appears wrong. Infant exams can uncover a problem that if caught early can save a child from a life of poor eyesight. In adults who may have no visual symptoms an eye exam might reveal a disease such as glaucoma which if left untreated can lead to permanent vision loss and even blindness.
